Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tapemark sell off-the-shelf products?
No. Tapemark is a contract manufacturer, which means we manufacture custom products to meet prototype, clinical evaluation, validation, and commercial production requirements for our customers. They in turn market and distribute their products.

What does Tapemark sell?
We sell service – the service of converting a wide range of flexible materials into custom complex components, assemblies and finished products for the medical, pharmaceutical, and consumer products markets.

What does "integrated capabilities" mean?
Tapemark utilizes its core capabilities to work in conjunction with each other. Our core capabilities include coating, printing, multi-layer lamination, die cutting and custom packaging. Combining multiple capabilities in-line results in the most cost-effective and functional product available and provides unique solutions to our customers' requirements.

Do you sell tape, raw materials or pressure sensitive materials?
Tapemark converts raw materials into value added products for our customers. We are not in the business of selling raw materials.

Does Tapemark work with customer supplied materials?
Yes. Tapemark is experienced in working with customers who supply materials for the production of their parts. We work closely with them to plan efficient material delivery and inventory schedules, monitor quality requirements and provide traceability documentation.

Can you tell me which products you make? What customers buy from you?
As a contract manufacturer, we manufacture products based on a customer's unique specifications, with strict confidentiality. That means that we do not reveal our customers or the products we make for them. Internally we use project code names to ensure information is disseminated only on a “need to know” basis. Our prescription pharmaceutical customers do list our name on their products as required by regulations, although we do not proactively reveal those relationships.

What does cGMP mean?
The term cGMP stands for “current Good Manufacturing Processes” which are regulations specified by the FDA that describe the methods, equipment and control procedures required for the industries we serve. The level of quality systems required to achieve cGMP is a significant undertaking, and Tapemark’s commitment to quality is evidenced by our many successful audits and certifications.
